| Mumbai: The India International
Jewellery Show 2006 (IIJS) is being held in Mumbai from May 4-8.
Over 30,000 international and domestic trade visitors are expected
at the fair. So far, 13,346 pre-registrations have been done.
The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has made
investments to the tune of Rs 12 crore to build the infrastructure
at the venue.

Hema Malini inaugurated launches "Vallaya", a bangle collection
in gold and diamonds in seven interchangeable colours at the India
International Jewellery Show 2004 in Mumbai on Saturday.
When I asked Hema of her obsession with fine jewellery, she smiled
and replied “of course”. Her personality and charm adds
to the jewellery more than the later adds to her. Hema is special
passion and love for it.
It was especially interesting to find how young she looks compared
to her real age. I asked her, which movie will she like to “redo”
if allowed to pick only “one” of her old charmer –
she again smiled and replied ”Basanti in Sholey of course!”
